How to trace Welsh ancestors

Discover your Welsh ancestors. Explore our census records to find where and when your ancestor lived in Wales. Delve into our parish and civil registers to learn birth, marriage, and death dates to help build your family tree.

Was your ancestor in the military? Or was your ancestor a criminal? Discover interesting biographical details in our military and prison records.

You can search these records by going to 'Search' in the main navigation bar, and then selecting 'Search all Records' from the drop down menu. This will take you to a new search page where in the top left hand corner you can filter by place and record type. This means you can select 'Wales' and 'Baptisms' for example.
