This book is one of the earliest local directories published in Ireland, and the first to focus on the south-east. It includes Waterford, Kilkenny, Clonmel, Carrick-on-Suir, New Ross, Carlow and Tramore. For each town or city there is a full list of officials and government offices, including the judiciary, police and courts. Each entry also gives details about schools and colleges, churches, and other private and public institutions. Most importantly the entries include a trades and professional directory, as well as a detailed alphabetical directory of residents.
