Colin and Florence Cousins, and their two sons, Colin (aged nine) and Norman (aged four) were all killed when their home at Leigh Street was bombed in 1940. They are amongst the 659 individuals listed in this index of Sheffield casualties.
The main Sheffield Blitz occurred between the 12th and 15th December 1940 and as well as the fatal casualties listed in this collection, there were also 1,500 people injured and 40,000 made homeless. Three thousand homes were demolished and a further 3,000 badly damaged. A total of 78,000 homes received damage of some kind.
