We are pleased to be working with family history societies and archives throughout Yorkshire to bring you the Yorkshire Collection.
The Yorkshire Collection includes the records of six Yorkshire archives which provide a rich source of genealogical source material stretching back to the 16th Century. In this first phase of records we have a wealth of parish records that can provide details not just of your ancestor but also, in some cases, their immediate family. Cemetery records can provide even more insight. When the second phase of records arrive next year we will be adding exciting social history records that will bring you beyond the main life events to show you how your ancestors lived, especially in the 19th century.
If you have ancestors from the north east of England then the Yorkshire Collection is a vital resource.
Findmypast has been working closely with the Yorkshire Digitization Consortium to bring you the most comprehensive range of records. Consortium members Borthwick Institute of Archives, Doncaster Archives, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, North Yorkshire County Council, Sheffield Archive and Local Studies Library and Teeside Archives all hold fascinating collections of local genealogical material.
Findmypast also works with family history societies in the county to bring you transcripts of a wide range of local records.
The Yorkshire Collection also includes a rare survival of the 1831 British Census covering the township of Nether Hallam in Sheffield.
