What can these records tell me?

By an Act of Parliament 1869, County Quarter Sessions were empowered to inspect Infected animals and declare farms Infected areas. These details were taken from the printed notices declaring individual farms infected or free of disease 1878-1888. Most are cases are of swine fever but there are a number of cases of Anthrax, Foot and Mouth, Glanders Pleuro Pneumonia, Rabies, Sheep Scab, and Typhoid Fever.
