Published in 1924, this is the first edition Alumni Dublinenses, a register of provosts, professors, graduates and students of Trinity College Dublin, Ireland’s oldest university. The publication mentions individuals who were at Trinity between 1593 – 1846, and is especially valuable for its list of over 32,000 names from 1593-1637, a period for which no registers survive.
Students at Trinity College Dublin came not just from Ireland but also Britain and the British Empire. Included in the register is the individual’s full name, date of entering the college, age of entering, father’s name and address, the degree they received and their graduation date. Often additional information about them is included.
The date in the transcript is usually the date of entering college.
