Hertfordshire Family History Society

Hertfordshire Family History Society was formed in 1977 to cover family history interests in the county of Hertfordshire in southern England, one of the Home Counties adjacent to the capital. Its membership has now grown to some 1,200.

The Society holds regular monthly meetings at Woolmer Green, where members can hear a variety of speakers, seek advice, and meet like-minded people. Prior to each meeting there is the very active computer group. There are also local groups in Hoddesdon and St Albans. The quarterly journal “Hertfordshire People” provides items of local interest, general genealogical information, events and activities of the Society, and an opportunity for members to publish their personal family history interests. Members’ interests can also be found in a separate publication.

More information can be found on the website including details of local publications of parish records, projects, limited search services of the Society’s databases, and how to join the Society.

Hertfordshire FHS is a registered charity (no 285008) and is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies.
