This story is about my late Father Bert Sydney Rance born in Wyalkatchem Western Australia on 21/2/1922 Bert joined the R.A.A.F. in 1942 and was a Navigator / Gunner an d flew in a variety of planes including The Wirraway, Beaufort Bombers and the Vultee Vengeance in the New Guinea Islands. Little is known about his missions as they are still classified.
He was with with 21 squadron which later merged with 275 Squadron. In 1944 He was promoted to Warrant Officer class 2 and after the war he was issued with four medals for his effort during the war. His are The PACIFIC STAR AND RIBBON, The 1939-45 STAR AND RIBBON, The AUSTRALIAN SERVICE MEDAL 1939-45 and The AUSTRALIAN SERVICE MEDAL 1945-to75. Sadly My Father passed away in 2004.
