Thousands of new records added to findmypast.com

2006 Birth and Death records for England and Wales

Birth and death records for 2006 have now been added to the official GRO indexes available at findmypast.com, allowing you to keep your family tree up to date.

Unfortunately due to a change in legislation, this will be the last new batch of civil birth, marriage and death records available online. As part of the legislation alteration, marriages for 2006 are not available. To apply for a certificate for a marriage which occurred after 2005 it will be necessary to contact the appropriate registration office directly. A list of contact details for registration offices can be found at Genuki.org.uk.

2003-2005 Overseas Birth, Marriage and Death records

Overseas births, marriages and deaths for 2003-2005 have now been added to the birth, marriage and death collection on findmypast.com.

With an ever-growing trend for British people to marry abroad these indexes are an essential resource in your research. Whilst they are a complete set, only births, marriages and deaths registered with the appropriate British Consulate will be included in the records.

City of London Burial Index update

Almost 30,000 records have been added to the City of London Burial Index. The records come from two new churches: Elim Chapel, Fetter Lane and St Luke, Old Street.
