Family history societies link exchange

This area is for webmasters of family history societies, who have contributed
records to the findmypast website under the agreement with the Federation of
Family History Societies (FFHS).

Linking to your website is easy.

You can copy the html code of any of the following banners and paste it into
the HTML code in your website.

If you would like to exchange links with us, after adding our link to your site,
just send us your link information to webmaster@findmypast.com

We can then set up a link back to your website straightaway, as we update our website daily when we add more resources.

Adding tracking codes

Each type of advert has its own tracking code (see below) so that we can see which types of ads are most effective for your society and how many visitors from your site clicked through to findmypast.

Please note, this is separate from the way that your society’s royalties will be calculated - that will be done automatically by findmypast’s administration system.

Each society needs to change one value on the code so that it contains your own society’s name and is unique to you. Each tracking code below ends with “your_fhs_name”. You simply need to substitute this with the name of your society.

Please note: don’t use any characters except for letters of the alphabet (i.e don’t use “&”, use “and” instead) and don’t leave any gaps between words – use an underscore (_) to separate the words instead. Please also only use lower case letters and not capitals.

We recommend that you use a short form of your name based on the area you cover, so that no two societies can be confused.

So for example, “The Hastings & Rother Family History Society” could be “hastings_and_rother”, and their code for a banner ad would look like this: http://www.findmypast.com/national-burial-index-search-start.action?redef=0&utm_source=fhs&utm_medium=online_other&utm_content=nbi_banner_ad&utm_campaign=hastings_and_rother

Findmypast Logos

Below you can find three different sizes of our logo.

It's easy to save a logo from our website:

• Right click (if you have a PC) or click and hold (if you have a Mac) on the image you want.
• Select 'Save picture as' from the list that appears.
• A window should appear, showing the folders on your hard drive. Choose where you would like to save the image to, and click 'Save'.
• Your image has now been saved.
