Herefordshire Family History Society was formed in 1980 to cover family history interests in the county of Herefordshire, and has a membership to date of 900.
The society holds monthly meetings in Hereford where members can hear a variety of speakers, seek advice, especially at the research evenings run three times a year, and enjoy meeting likeminded people. There is a bi-annual fair in Hereford, and society volunteers also attend surrounding counties’ fairs.
The quarterly journal ‘Herefordiensis’ provides items of local interest, general genealogical information, events and activities of the society, and an opportunity to publish personal family history interests. These will also be found on the website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ukhfhs/ with details of local publications available for purchase online or by post, projects, research services, and how to join the society.
Herefordshire FHS is a registered charity (no 517785), is a member of West Midlands Area Group, and is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies.
