Huntingdon Society for Family History

Huntingdonshire Family History Society was formed in 1985 to cover family history interests in the old county of Huntingdon, and has now grown to a membership of some 375.

The society holds regular meetings at the W.I. Hall, Huntingdon where members and non members are welcome to hear a variety of speakers, seek advice, view a large selection of publications, and meet other enthusiasts. Although there is no research centre the society’s family history library is located in the reference section of Huntingdon Library to facilitate easy access.

The journal, ‘The Huntsman’, is distributed three times a year and provides items of local interest, general genealogical information, events and activities of the society, and an opportunity to have published personal family history interests. A separate publication of interests is also produced approximately every two years. Similar information is also found on the website including details of local publications, assistance with specific enquiries, and facilities to join this small but friendly society.

Huntingdonshire FHS is a registered charity (no 800335), and is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies.
