Vital Records - Birth, Marriage and Death

Vital records are essential for tracing family history, as they provide evidence of an individual's birth, marriage, and death. Vital records can include additional information and can link family members together.

Our vast world-wide collections include vital records from many sources, including state, county, and federal archives as well as materials from church and private.

Census Records

Census records are one of the largest record sets for family history and genealogy. A census is usually taken every ten years, and provides a unique snapshot of the lives of your ancestors.

Our collections include fully-indexed images and transcriptions of the entire United States Census. Records from England and Scotland, dating from 1841 to 1911 are also included, as well census substitutes for Ireland.

Migration, Immigration and Travel

Passenger lists, including arrival and departure records from the UK, can be a valuable resource for discovering ages, places of origin, likely destinations, and other information about family members.

Our collections document immigrants to the US, including many who arrived at Ellis Island. Other records document the migrations of families across the globe.

Military Records

Military records provide excellent sources of genealogical and historical information. Our collections include materials related to World War I and World War II, including records from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and French and Indian War.

Collections include service records, enlistment registers, pension indexes and applications and official Army reports. They can provide ages, birthplaces and physical descriptions.
